Newsletter May 2013
Dear family, friends and ministry partners:
“You turn my fear into joy, mourning to dancing
You calm the storm that rages in my soul
You turn my tears into smiles, sorrow to laughter
You alone can heal my heart and make me whole!”
These are the chorus lyrics for a new praise song of mine, based on the story of Jesus and Peter walking on the water — one of a dozen songs being prepared for a brand new worship CD, entitled “My Father Sings,” to be available in July. I am also working on a new piano solo CD, “Music from the Heart,” with favorites from previous volumes, along with medleys from 13 of the world’s best-loved musicals.
The apostle Paul exhorts us in Colossians 3:17 that “whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” So, I am playing some of the world’s best-loved secular melodies — all to the glory of the awesome Creator of music! Your prayers for the success of the remaining composing work, recording and mixing would be most appreciated.
Lisa returned to the Congo in mid-March for her second year with Samaritan’s Purse. I am enclosing her latest prayer update. Just last week, Lisa flew to their food security station in Faradje and stayed over two nights. Please continue to pray for Lisa, her co-workers and God’s precious children, and His Kingdom to come!.
Tammy and I are very excited to share the news that Heidi and Ryan are expecting their first child in July – our first grandchild – a little girl scheduled to arrive in mid- July. Be on the look-out for new children’s songs and lullabies!!!
Last week’s events in Boston MA, Waco TX, as well as North Korea, remind us of the desperate need this world has to know the amazing love of the Father and that we are saved by the precious gift of His grace through Christ Jesus. We are so grateful for your prayers and your support in sharing this good news through worship and praise, and through the Word and the Song. You and yours are in our prayers also.
Love and blessings, in Christ,
Ross and Tammy
